What is "Glacial biology"?

The glacier has long been believied to be an almost non-biological environment. However, various cold-tolerant animals and micro-plants which spend their entire lives on glaciers were recently discovered. Glacial biology is a study of their ecology on glaciers and relationship between the organisms and glacial environment.
