Snow algae in Canadian Arctic

The snow algae can be found on the glacial surface and in cryoconite holes in Arctic region. The survey was carried out on Devon ice cap and Penny ice cap in 1998.

Size: 23 ± 5.9 x 9.4 ± 0.9 µm (length x wide)

Cylindrocystis sp.

Size: 35 ± 1.4 x 15 ± 0.4 µm (length x wide)

Oscillatriacean alga 1

Size: 3.1 ± 1.1 µm in diameter

Trochiscia sp.

Size: 12 ± 2.8 µm in diameter.

Calothrix parietina

Size: 9.3 ± 1.6 µm in wide

Oscillatriacean alga 2

Size: 5.6 ± 1.2 µm in wide
